We began North Shore Nest in 2004 from our basements in Glenview. Prior to launching, we were doing design projects on the side for family and friends while we worked our full time careers. When the market crashed, we made the decision to launch North Shore Nest full time, and we have spent the last twenty years designing spaces for families along the North Shore and across the US.
Our shared passion for great design paired with sensibility allows us to transform interiors into warm, livable spaces that stand the test of time. By taking a fresh updated approach to traditional styling and building rooms with layers, we are able to provide depth and individuality allowing our clients to live beautifully everyday.
We are based in Glenview Illinois, serving the Chicago area and surrounding suburbs, as well as the Lake Geneva Wisconsin area. We also are available to travel and enjoy the diversity and learning opportunities offered by working in communities other than our own.

"If you had seen my college dorm room, complete with custom curtains, coordinating pillows, and bedding, you would have known that a future in interior design was ahead of me.
After receiving my business degree, I went on to do corporate sales only to find myself designing rooms for friends and family. When Suzanne and I met after college, we hit it off instantly and began to dream of the day we would start our design firm. In 2004, the opportunity presented itself, and that’s when NSN began.
My favorite part of designing spaces is mixing fabrics and lighting. I love to layer and blend a home to give it warmth and style.
When I'm not in the studio, you can find me head deep in interior design magazines and fashion blogs, spending time with my husband and three kids, or traveling with my friends and family. "

"I think my family knew before I did that interior design was in my future. From arranging and rearranging my childhood bedroom to building and designing a pretty incredible doll house (to this day, it's still a work in progress), interior design has been in my bones since a very young age.
My degree in psychology allows me to intuitively create spaces for our clients that meet the needs of their family and nurture their souls.
My specialty within our firm is space planning and designing custom furniture and built ins for our clients. I especially enjoy finding solutions to challenging design dilemmas and helping our clients live their best lives.
When I'm not in the studio, you can find me exercising, decorating my home, spending time with my husband and three kids, and taking care of those around me."

Whitney joined the North Shore Nest team in August 2020 as Studio Manager with a background in Operations Management, Textiles, and Client Relations. She handles the day-to-day project and studio management. She appreciates the joy that design brings both through function and beauty, and she loves helping make the design process seamless for our clients.
When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, kayaking, delving into personal sewing projects, and hosting dinner for friends.

Michelle has been with North Shore Nest since May of 2019 and she manages and coordinates all client orders. Her ability to maintain this side of our business allows us to have control over our projects throughout the entire shipping process, from order to delivery. Her contribution to our team keeps our projects on course, tracking every last sofa, sconce and side table from vendors around the world. We depend on her ability to coordinate the backend of our projects and help us deliver thoughtful, complete designs to our clients.
When she is not keeping our projects on track, you can find her at home with her two daughters or helping her husband with his restaurant in the Glen.
